About Washington County Criminal History

Washington County records are divided among the sheriff, the state courts in Plymouth, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Adult Correction, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. This site organizes those official channels so readers can identify the custodian, request method, and search route that fit a particular record.

Why We Built This Site

North Carolina does not store every part of a criminal event in one public system. Washington County detention answers local custody questions, the Clerk of Superior Court maintains filed charges and dispositions, and NCSBI keeps fingerprint-supported state history. Correctional supervision and registry records have still different custodians. We assembled the official contacts, forms, fees, and access limits needed to tell those records apart and reach the office that actually maintains each one.

What You Will Find Here

  • Agency contacts: verified routes to the Washington County sheriff, Clerk of Superior Court, and statewide record systems
  • Record guides: how criminal court case records are searched and interpreted in Washington County
  • Official review steps: the difference between a county court search and NCSBI fingerprint-based Right to Review
  • Record relief details: where North Carolina expunction petitions begin and why eligibility depends on the governing statute

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, not part of a North Carolina court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Its role is limited:

  • We do not issue certified court documents, police reports, or criminal-history records
  • We cannot submit a Washington County records request or North Carolina expunction petition for a reader
  • We do not provide legal advice about a charge, warrant, judgment, or eligibility for relief
  • We cannot perform an official background check or alter a government record
  • We cannot promise that an agency's contact details, fees, or procedures have not changed

Only the office that holds the source record, such as the sheriff, Clerk of Superior Court, or NCSBI, can provide an official copy.

Search Partners

Third-party providers power search boxes appearing on some pages. They control their own results, terms, and charges. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports the site's operation. We do not set provider prices, create their reports, or control the information they return.
